Firstly congratulations to the bride and groom to be.
You want to have a great night to celebrate but let's remember it's not just any old knees up.
When I sing on the evening of your wedding as well as getting the feet taapping and producing an irresisitable urge for all those aunties and uncles to "get up and do their ting " I will make sure that the romance of the day isn't totally lost as it so often can be.
When you get married you enter your own special world.
I could write lots of hype but the poem below says it all.
"A special world for you and me
A special bond one cannot see
It wraps us up in its cocoon
And holds us fiercely in its womb.
Its fingers spread like fine spun gold
Gently nestling us to the fold
Like silken thread it holds us fast
Bonds like this are meant to last.
And though at times a thread may break
A new one forms in its wake
To bind us closer and keep us strong
In a special world, where we belong."
(A poem by Sheilagh Lennon)
I know I know, some will say that's cheesy but maybe they're not the one's getting married.
Whatever happens I sing for "the bride and groom".
Have a great wedding day.
