Rebecca Witts

Born in South Wales Rebecca showed an aptitude for music from an early age. She began learning the harp at the age of 11 having already achieved many qualifications on the flute, piano and recorder. By the age of 14 Rebecca was performing regularly with many of the best amateur orchestras in Gloucestershire and surrounding counties. After only three years of studying the harp she was awarded 1st prize in the Bristol Festival of Music, Speech and Drama, Harp class, and, three years later, 3rd place in the Rotary Club Gloucestershire Young Musician of the Year competition.

At 18 Rebecca moved to Norwich to continue her studies at the University of East Anglia. She was twice awarded scholarships for performance and in her final year she received the Dorothea and Rowan Hare award for excellence in performance and was named the best performer in her year of study. During her studies Rebecca has been fortunate to study under some of the best tutors in the world including Madame Fontan-Binoche, Rhodri Davies and Daphne Boden. She now has a degree in music and intends to follow this shortly with a Masters degree in performance at one of the specialist music colleges in London.

Rebecca has been performing as a background musician for over five years and is lucky to have been invited to play at many of the most exclusive hotels, private clubs and other venues in Gloucestershire, Norfolk and Suffolk. She has performed for a wide variety of events including weddings, funerals,
